Hiring Process

Step 1

Apply

Non-natives
  • With teaching experience and residing in the Philippines.
Natives
  • Must have experience teaching IELTS speaking.
  • Only U.S.A, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand passport holders.

Application Screening

If you pass the screening, Skybel will contact you via e-mail within seven business days to discuss the interview date and time.

Step 3

Interview via Teams

The interview mainly consists of:
  • Your teaching experience and career
  • Your availability
  • Any questions you have
If you pass the interview, Skybel will contact you via Teams within three business days to discuss the demo class date and time.

Step 4

Demo Class

During the demo class, Skybel will evaluate your overall teaching skills, including your correction techniques and how you build rapport.
If you pass the demo class, Skybel will contact you via Teams within three business days regarding the final decision.

Step 5

Orientation

Skybel will give you an orientation on the overall system.
After the orientation, everything is ready.

Q. What is Skybel?

Skybel is an online English teaching company based in South Korea, providing one-on-one classes through Teams for Korean students to improve their English-speaking skills since 2009.

· Skybel uses Teams as a teaching communication tool.
· Skybel runs 'Conversation, IELTS speaking, Interview, Business, Junior' courses.
· Skybel runs classes (2/3/5 times a week), each 25 or 50 minutes. Minimum session is 1 month.
Q. What type of students will I teach?

Skybel is for Korean students of various ages and English-speaking needs.
Q. Where do I teach?

Teachers must conduct classes at home in a quiet, noise-free space with a stable internet connection for Teams class. Clean, clutter-free and appropriate background with adequate lighting are required for video classes. Must have:

· Fast and reliable internet connection with noise-cancelling headphones with a microphone and an HD webcam.
· Wired DSL/Broadband/Fiber internet connection.
· Internet speed of minimum 10 Mbps download/upload.
· Memory: at least 4GB of RAM.
Q. Requirements?

· With teaching experience and residing in the Philippines.
· Bachelor's degree or higher.
· At least 3 years of teaching experience.
· Near-native pronunciation/accent/intonation.
· Familiar with grammar rules.

[ Natives ]
· U.S.A, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa passport holders.
· Bachelor's degree or higher.
· At least 3 years of teaching experience.
· High preference is given to those with experience as an IELTS examiner.
Q. Work schedule?

Skybel only offers classes during weekdays, 06:00–24:00 KT (Korea time, GMT+9).

Our teachers can set their own schedule. You can decide your own hours and work as much or as little as you want. The minimum/maximum hour commitment is relatively flexible. You just need to provide Skybel your available time slots, though slots might not be guaranteed and are subject to change at Skybel's discretion.

Skybel runs various tools to attract students and match them with you according to teaching methods, preferences, interests and so on. Students can also directly choose to learn from you.
Q. Do I need to prepare my own teaching material?

Skybel already has materials for every class, so you won't need to worry about preparing teaching materials. However, teachers must prepare for class by reviewing the materials beforehand.
Q. How do I receive payment?

Q. How long is the training / probationary period?

The training / probationary period is up to one month.
